ALISS is a national digital programme that helps people find and share information on health and wellbeing resources, services, groups, activities, and support in their local communities and online.
ALISS can help you find information about resources that:
- Help manage long term conditions.
- Enable social and community connection (e.g. toddler group or befriending service).
- Support outdoor and physical activity (e.g. sports club or community garden).
- Link to a range of practical support (e.g. money or benefit advice).
- Involve digital technology to improve health and wellbeing (e.g. online forum or mobile app).
ALISS is built on the belief that everyone has a right to information that helps them live well and stay connected. Resources on ALISS are added and updated by people living and working across Scotland. So, if you know about a local service but cannot find it, you can add it yourself.
ALISS operates on the principles of open data and open source software, enabling organisations to use the data in their own websites and systems. By making the data openly available, ALISS helps to reduce duplication, improve information consistency, and save resources needed to collect and maintain the same information independently.
