CLD Standards Council Scotland is the professional body for Community Learning & Development practitioners working or volunteering in CLD, whether that be Adult Learning, Community Development, or Youth Work.
We currently have nearly 3,000 members practising in wide variety of settings in the public and third sectors across Scotland.
We are a member-led organisation. Our approach and the plans to deliver our core responsibilities are defined by our member committees and based on feedback from our growing membership.
CLD Standards Council works with the sector to establish and maintain high standards of practice in CLD and is responsible for the registration of CLD practitioners, the approval of training courses, and the professional learning of the sector workforce. Underpinning all of these are the values, code of ethics and competence framework that set standards for practice and define CLD as a profession.
