Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) in Scotland works for the one in four children in Scotland growing up in poverty. We collect evidence from families living in poverty and campaign for solutions to bring about a society where children have a fair chance in life free from hardship.
Through our welfare rights service, CPAG makes sure people who work with low-income families can give the right advice so that nobody misses out on money they are entitled to. We provide:
- online training covering the full range of UK and Scottish benefits
- conferences and seminars for welfare rights advisers
- short eLearning courses to help maximise take up of benefit entitlement
- advice handbooks, factsheets and online resources
- casework support through a telephone and email advice line
- specialist advice, training and resources for services working with families with young children, disabled children and adults, migrant groups, kinship carers, care-experienced young people and students
