For over 30 years, Foundation Scotland has been connecting people, ideas and sources of funding to help our communities thrive.

We work with philanthropic individuals, families, trusts, and businesses who want to support and strengthen the building blocks of these communities. We help them to channel their giving in a way that is most effective and meaningful to them.

We also work in partnership with communities themselves, so that they can maximise funding opportunities from place-based funds, such as community benefit funds provided by the renewables sector.

And we offer social investment opportunities that enable social enterprises, community organisations and charities to grow and deliver social impact.

Each year, Foundation Scotland distributes millions of pounds through grantmaking programmes supporting charities, community groups and individuals across the country. Our work spans a wide range of themes and places, from tackling poverty and inequality to supporting children and young people, responding to climate change and enabling local action.

We also work with partners across the funding and voluntary sectors to share learning, strengthen practice and explore new approaches to some of the challenges facing Scotland.
