Murray’s Initiative is dedicated to reducing alcohol & drug-related harm & supporting individuals, families & communities to create lasting, positive change. Formerly known as GCA, we have evolved from a specialist alcohol service into a leading organisation addressing alcohol, drugs, trauma, health & wellbeing.

Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed & focused on harm reduction, recognising that everyone’s journey is different. We support people to achieve their own goals, whether that means reducing their alcohol or drug use, making healthier choices or working towards abstinence.

Our services include free and confidential counselling, groupwork, wellbeing support, employability programmes & specialist services for women affected by gender-based violence, young people & LGBTQ+ communities. We also provide Alcohol Brief Interventions & educational programmes that promote greater awareness & healthier lifestyles.

Alongside our frontline services, Murray’s Initiative is a recognised provider of professional development & accredited training, including COSCA Counselling Skills & a Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.
