Scottish Mediation is the professional body for mediators in Scotland and aims to promote a wider understanding of the benefits of mediation. Mediation is entirely voluntary and can be quicker and more effective than traditional dispute resolution methods such as grievance and complaints procedures. In the Third Sector mediation can be used in a wide range of disputes and relationship difficulties for example between board members, committee members, employees, volunteers or clients. It can also be useful in assisting organisations to resolve some of the difficult and sensitive issues that arise through partnership and collaboration.
