Royal Zoological Society of Scotland
Why you should vote for Royal Zoological Society of Scotland for the People’s Choice Award
Throughout the pandemic, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has been here for people and communities who love nature.
When schools were closed, we moved to online learning to bring nature to people in their homes, including live tours from our zoos.
Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park re-opened and helped hundreds of thousands of people be close to wildlife again.
Our charity continued our vital conservation work, including projects with partners to save the wildcat and pine hoverfly from extinction in Scotland.
We now have record numbers of members, donors and adopters - and more people than ever helping nature.
Covid-19 forced the closure of Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park for several months, which removed almost all our charity’s income.
But in 2021, thanks to our Save our Zoos campaign, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s family grew as people showed their love of animals and support.
Our wildlife conservation charity continued to engage millions of people throughout the pandemic through our online education programme and by re-opening Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, with visitors overjoyed to experience nature again.
We also continued our incredible conservation work in Scotland and around the world, helping to protect wildlife.
