#United2EndMND - MND Scotland, My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and MND Association

MND affects 1 in 300 people. The average time from diagnosis to death is only 18 months. The #United2EndMND campaign was special because it was conceived and driven by five people living with MND. The harsh reality is that many people with MND don’t live long enough to be able to campaign for change but, acting together, this group united a coalition of three MND charities with prominent UK MND researchers to speak with one voice. The coalition devised a unified plan, campaigned relentlessly, and mobilised the entire MND community to push for - and secure - vital MND funding.

#United2EndMND is a unique coalition of Motor Neuron Disease patients, MND Scotland, My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, MND Association, and leading researchers, with a single aim - to campaign for UK Government to invest £50 million into targeted MND research to accelerate the search for a cure for MND, a devastating and underfunded disease with no effective treatments. In 2021 their petition gained over 100,000 signatures and was debated in UK Parliament, and the campaign was adopted by the Sunday Express as its crusade. In November, UK Government announced its commitment to invest £50 million over five years into MND research.
