Nan Fotheringham - Coatbridge Citizens Advice Bureau

Why you should vote for Nan Fotheringham - Coatbridge Citizens Advice Bureau for the People’s Choice Award

CAB is the "go to place" for everyone for advice, many organisations promote CAB as the place to go to resolve issues. People think CAB advisers is a paid job not a charity, our volunteers do it to help others without pay. 20 years unpaid work 2 days a week without fail, even during covid is a fantastic achievement for Nan. Her age is no barrier, she is an excellent adviser, clients love her so it's great that she can be recognised for the fantastic work she does and her commitment to her local community.

Without volunteers we wouldn't have a Citizens Advice Bureau and the local community would lose out on the place that everyone goes to when they need advice to resolve an issue. Our volunteers are the first point of contact with people, they are highly trained advisers completing several months of training and deal with any enquiries that they are presented with. As they are not paid staff it's great that they know they are appreciated, Nan aged 80 years has provided this service for 20 years and clients ask for her specifically and she also takes on social policy issues.
