David always throws heart and soul into everything he does for RSABI. One example was when he and his wife Vaila sang (with gusto!) last Christmas in the (Not so) Silent Night recorded as part of RSABI’s #KeepTalking campaign. The aim was to encourage people to reconnect and check in on each other during the long winter months when rural isolation and loneliness can really impact on the mental health of farmers and crofters. The video viewed more than 100,000 times.
David Leggat MBE was Chair of RSABI during 2021 and 2022 and is currently in his ninth and final year as an exceptionally dedicated Trustee. David’s energy and enthusiasm have shone through and his contribution to RSABI and the work the charity does to support people in the Scottish agricultural industry, has been exemplary. David consistently rises to every challenge he encounters and always has an energetic and positive outlook to support RSABI to deliver its services – providing practical, emotional and financial support to people in Scottish agriculture.
