Gordon has created a perfect little escape just a two-minute walk from where many of our service users receive their cancer treatment. We understand just how stressful and isolating treatment can be, and Gordon has ensured there's a beautiful space to add a little light into the darkest days. As if this wasn't enough, he's always looking at new ways to bring some extra joy. He holds an annual sunflower growing contest, bakes cakes for the centre and volunteers as Santa at our Christmas Fayre. Nothing is ever too much, and we're so lucky to have such an amazing volunteer.

Gordon has been our volunteer gardener here at Cancer Support Scotland since 2018. At least 1 day a week, he looks after the gardens that surround our beautiful Calman Centre, ensuring our little cancer support centre is a comforting, welcoming place for those that need us. Our key aim as a charity is to provide wellbeing support for anyone affected by cancer throughout Scotland, and Gordon has played a crucial role over the years by sweeping, clearing, weeding, and planting to ensure our centre provides a calming sanctuary on the grounds of a very busy cancer hospital.
