Janice Lee - Ardgowan Hospice
Ardgowan Hospice, Inverclyde, provides compassionate care and support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Since its inception, the hospice has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families through a range of services. These services include specialist palliative care, symptom management, emotional support, and practical assistance. Ardgowan Hospice also offers holistic therapies, counselling, and bereavement support to help individuals and their loved ones navigate their journey with dignity and comfort.
In 2002, Janice commenced her role as an assistant cook at Ardgowan Hospice. After a significant personal loss, she devoted herself to aiding grieving children and young adults. With unwavering dedication spanning 22 years, Janice has since spearheaded projects like MyGriefMatters, which is currently expanding across schools and community groups in Inverclyde. These stress the vital importance of adults engaging in open, honest conversations about death, while also supporting their mental well-being. Janice also continues to offer one-to-one support to both children and parents in community settings and within the Hospice In-Patient Unit, ensuring no one faces grief alone.
