Event summary and materials

What was covered in your sessions?

At our first in person event since the pandemic, Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution launched its latest digital psychoeducational resource ‘The Three Brains’ aimed at young people. Along with Professor Judith Pratt from Strathclyde University we explored how our ‘three brains’ (the gut, heart and actual brain) work together to process how to react to the world around us through our mind-body connection. A better understanding of the mind-body connection can help us to better regulate our emotions.

Was there any useful feedback or reflection from the participants?

  • 100% agreed they would use the SCCR digital developments (MonkeyVsLizard, #KeepTheHeid , The Emotional Homunculus & The Three Brains) :
  • 94% agreed they will apply what they learnt, to positively change the negative impact conflict has on relationships, mental health and emotional wellbeing:

“Fantastic, thought provoking session. Really simplified the science. Think will resonate with young people”

“It supported me to understand myself, so I know I can use this across my own family and out team and young people”
