Nina Murray - Engender
Why you should vote for Nina Murray - Engender for the People’s Choice Award
It would be an absolute honour to receive this recognition on behalf of the Engender Board and staff team, and all our members, partners, and supporters, who have been through such a difficult year after the sudden death of our Executive Director, Emma Ritch, in July 2021. Despite our loss, we have fought hard to continue Emma's incredible legacy and support the team to continue their vital work for women's equality in Scotland.
In the wake of the sudden death of Engender's Executive Director, Emma Ritch, Nina has provided unswerving and compassionate support to the Board and staff despite her own loss. Nina agreed to extend her time in office as Convenor to provide continuity as the organisation and Scotland's feminist movement and civil society were rocked by Emma's loss. She has gone above and beyond, demonstrating leadership, empathy and support during a very difficult period. Throughout, she has modelled a steadfast commitment to Engender's charitable aims and good governance, empowering and supporting the team to continue the vital work of the organisation.
