Overview

Join SCVO's Jason Railton and Generation Working Together's Bella Kerr for this interactive, informative session on digital inclusion across the generations. We'll be speaking to a panel of sector-leaders who have developed a range of projects that focus on bringing different generations together to learn digital skills.

With COVID being an obstacle to physical interactions, the ways we work, consume, and communicate have also had to change. As we adjust and adapt, those who are less digitally literate, including many older adults, have been forced to play catch up. How might different generations play a role in improving digital literacy during this shift? How might we facilitate age inclusiveness in a digital era?

Let's find out together!

Overall aim

We'll be hearing from:

  • Wanda Mackay, Youth Development Officer at Highlife Highlands
  • Cassie Forbes, Chief Executive at ROAR (Reaching Older Adults in Renfrewshire)
  • Helen Harper, Community Development Officer, Connected Communities Dunbar

All our guest speakers have experience in developing intergenerational digital projects, and will share their experiences and learning in this field. Delegates will gain a new appreciation for the benefits of intergenerational work, deepen their understanding of the value of promoting digital inclusion between generations, and make new connections across the sector in Scotland

Description

This one-hour webinar will be a panel discussion led by SCVO and Generations Working Together. We'll put questions to the panel around:

  • Why engage different generations in digital inclusion work?
  • What are the key challenges and the key benefits of doing it?
  • How do we get started in developing this work?

Participants will have an opportunity to pick our panel's brains too with a Q&A session, as well as make new connections with organisations across Scotland trying to achieve the same goals.

Who was the event aimed at?

This webinar is aimed at anyone interested in developing digital inclusion work that supports people of all ages. If you're thinking about:
