Aims & objectiveswhy bike for good? Bike for Good, has the following meanings: 1) We refurbish, repair and teach communities how to maintain bicycles; once you have the skills a bike is for good. 2) We use the bike to do good actions: we improve the environment, teach skills, and improve mental and physical health. 3) Once you get into cycling, it is for good – not only summer time! Our Vision is an environment where everyone benefits from riding a bicycle. Our Mission is to enable people in Scotland to cycle as their mode of transport.

Ensure all customers are always made welcome.
Identify customers’ needs and assist with test rides and potential purchases.
Process transactions at the till.
Accurately receive, sort and price deliveries.
Ensure shelves and displays are stocked and all products are correctly and clearly priced.
Assist with other relevant shop floor activities.
Processing incoming and outgoing bikes and parts for recycling purposes.
Performing basic repairs such as replacing tubes, brake pads, cables, etc.
Assisting with other workshop activities such as Fix Your Own Bike, retail sales, customer service, bike maintenance etc.
Obtain a basic knowledge of the types of bikes, tyre sizing, types of parts, etc
Assist with other relevant warehouse duties.
Community Projects/Cycle Training:
Learn about the community projects we are involved with and the social impact they provide.
Support the project teams to set up at events by loading vans, assisting with bike rides, etc and engaging with our project users.
Contribute to the evaluation and administration of the community projects.
Assist with other relevant project activities.
An open and friendly approach and responsive to taking regular instruction and guidance.
A genuine interest in learning and personal development with a willingness to try new things, take on new tasks and participate in training.
Not afraid to take on new challenges and ask for help when needed.
A commitment to the role and its responsibilities.
Able to potentially work evenings and weekends.
Willingness to engage with a diverse workforce, volunteers and our customers.
An interest in cycling and the promotion of cycling.
Some work experience in a shop, workshop or office.
An interest in learning more about how charities and social enterprises operate.
Knowledge and understanding of our impact on the environment.
