Isle of Luing Community Trust turned bold vision into reality this year, securing £2.1 million to reopen Cullipool Slate Quarry. This 25-year enterprise promises sustainable jobs, vital income, and climate protection through shoreline reinforcement revitalising our island economy. Our Carbon Neutral Islands Project delivered a Resilience Hub at the Atlantic Islands Centre, with solar and battery storage powering three days of independence during outages. Our new Community Garden buzzes with volunteers growing fresh produce for the AIC Café. Luing Growers, Bakers, Crafters Group, and History Group, alongside our dedicated staff flourish here, blending skills, stories, and unbreakable community spirit.
