Magpie, AVAs Social enterprise, has had a transformative year, strengthening both climate impact and community support. We diverted 60 tonnes of items from landfill, a 50% increase, by expanding reuse initiatives and our gifting service, which provided 275 essential items to people. New projects, including our bedroom shop and bike refurbishment, further extend the life of donated goods. As a subcontractor managing reuse containers, we capture even more reusable items. Building upgrades have improved energy efficiency and reduced emissions. Through measurable impact and practical action, Magpie advances circular economy principles by helping people furnish and equip safe, sustainable homes.
