Elaine Crichton - Break the Silence
Break the Silence supports survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The charity nominated its recently retired chair, Elaine Crichton, as trustee of the year in recognition of the scale of change she effected during her tenure and particularly over the last 12 months. Elaine was appointed to ‘steady the ship’ - to strengthen governance, build resilience, and develop a positive place to work. What she did was model exemplary leadership and develop a Centre of Excellence, with a refreshed and highly skilled board, a modernised set of internal procedures, a reinvigorated staff, and a clear direction for the charity’s future.
