Transform Scotland - A Wee Walk Works Wonders
We are Scotland’s alliance for sustainable transport. Our diverse membership brings together public, private and third sector organisations from across Scotland.
In March 2024, we ran a media campaign, "A Wee Walk Works Wonders”, to encourage adults to walk for short journeys instead of driving.
The campaign ran in Renfrewshire, Moray and Aberdeenshire, using: online videos; radio ads; ads on the sides/backs of buses; six sheets; and A3 posters.
Our cute, colourful characters - a heart, brain, piggy bank and planet - each highlighted one of the benefits of walking more.
As a result of the campaign, 37,000 people started walking more for short journeys instead of driving. If this behaviour change is maintained, it will save 2,500 tonnes of carbon/yr.
