Epilepsy Connections
Why you should vote for Epilepsy Connections for the People’s Choice Award
We run a variety of projects and services within the Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Forth Valley, offering essential support, information and advice to people with epilepsy, their families, friends and carers and the professionals working with them. Our purpose is to help people affected by epilepsy to develop resilience and independence so that they can take charge of their condition and live their lives fully.
In our 25th year, Epilepsy Connections has continued to deliver vital, life-changing support to people affected by epilepsy. We provided direct help to hundreds, including 313 new referrals and £500,000 in benefits claimed. Our social groups welcomed 416 participants, and over 6,000 people engaged with us at the Glasgow Science Festival. From counselling to education, family respite trips to impactful fundraising, our work tackles isolation, stigma and inequality. The MBE awarded to our retired CEO, Shirley Maxwell, is a testament to our lasting impact. This year has been about celebration, connections, and continuing to ensure no one faces epilepsy alone.
