YMCA Tayside

Why you should vote for YMCA Tayside for the People’s Choice Award

YMCA Tayside is an inclusive organisation, open to all young people (and the wider community) encouraging them to belong, contribute and thrive. Our main vision is to support young people to build a positive future through their engagement of opportunities that develop the mind, body and spirit. Our support is open to young people aged 8-25 and nurtures their progression and development by building positive, trustful relationships with the purpose of having "somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to". Ultimately, we do things by and with young people, not to and for them.

Over the past year YMCA Tayside have positively engaged with over 600 individuals whilst developing a £7.2 million refurbishment of our premises, to ensure they are fit for purpose for generations to come. Young people were involved every step of the way, from concept to design to the end result. We have a staff team of 18, of which, 50% were once young people who engaged in our services. We are extremely privileged to have a presence in 7 local communities where young people are the decision makers and are at the centre of all we do.
