Tweeddale Youth Action

Why you should vote for Tweeddale Youth Action for the People’s Choice Award

We are a free to access universal youth project, offering a safe alternative to bus shelters and street corners for young people aged 10-25 to relax, socialise, have fun, learn and access advice, advocacy and support.

Through our Food and Bike Punk initiatives we teach vocational skills to young people and Food Punks now directly employ young people through our Peebles High Street pizzeria and training academy.

Our application was submitted by a member of the public in response to TYA's Food Punks launching Project Pizza- a training academy and pizza shop on Peebles High Street for 16-25 year olds. Through Food Punks we offer young people an opportunity to learn skills, earn money and feel part of something. Food Punks has been running for over 10 years now and through event and outside catering we have worked with over 100 young people, giving them opportunities to be at the heart of community celebrations and events. Project Pizza takes this to a new level.
