Dundee Contemporary Arts, NHS Tayside, Dundee City Council and University of Dundee - Hello In There Wee One
Why you should vote for Dundee Contemporary Arts, NHS Tayside, Dundee City Council and University of Dundee - Hello In There Wee One for the People’s Choice Award
This project was developed through a partnership between Dundee Contemporary Arts, NHS Tayside Infant Mental Health Team, Dundee City Council and University of Dundee.
Hello in There Wee One is a unique project designed to support expectant parents to communicate and bond with their baby before it’s born, through a book co-created with parents. The book is being given out to all expecting families across Dundee at their 16-week scan, free of charge. The project responds to research showing that parent-infant bonding begins before birth.
To produce the book, families across Dundee worked with local artist Louise Kirby and art therapist Vicky Armstrong to create images and share their views on what would support them to talk to their bumps.
This project was funded by the Scottish Government's Children’s Rights Unit through CORRA. It brought together a collaboration of partners from NHS Tayside, Dundee City Council, Dundee Contemporary Arts and University of Dundee. The book has already been made available online in a selection of different languages, including Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Dundonian Scots.
