Gordon Armour - The McGlashan Trust

Why you should vote for Gordon Armour - The McGlashan Trust for the People’s Choice Award

The McGlashan Charitable Trust was founded in 1992 by Iain McGlashan. For more than 30 years the Trust has supported access to education by providing grants to both students and charitable organisations within the arts in Scotland. Iain died in 2019 but the work of Trust continues. The McGlashan Charitable Trust provides grants each year for postgraduate study. We also support arts organisations that remove socioeconomic barriers to participation in culture or educational activities. Gordon Armour was a close friend of Iain’s and has held a key role in the Trust for more than a decade.

Gordon is an exceptionally devoted and selfless Trustee, dedicating countless hours to charitable causes both during his career and since retirement. He always serves in multiple Trustee roles simultaneously, often supporting three or four charities at a time. His current efforts include Trustee at The McGlashan Trust, The Bellahouston Bequest Fund, Inverclyde Hospital League of Friends Tea Bar and Westbourne Music (Finance Director). Known for his kindness and commitment, Gordon exemplifies dedication to helping others. His extensive and long-standing contributions make him a deserving candidate for SCVO’s Trustee of the Year 2025, particularly for his work with the McGlashan Trust.
