The Fund aims to promote community spirit and bring people together; enhance quality of life and promote people’s well-being; and foster vibrant sustainable communities. It seeks to do this by awarding funding for projects or activities that contribute to the following priorities: - foster social networks & activities that support older people in the community - assist young people to maximise their potential and improve their life chances - promote better relationships between different generations - encourage healthy lifestyles and good mental health - support the development and use of new community assets, and maintain and enhance existing ones - address the effects of rural isolation, improving access to services and improving transport - support skills development and non-profit making initiatives that will nurture a thriving and diverse local economy - minimises environmental impacts and reduces ‘carbon footprint’ - strengthen the ability of local people and groups to continue to meet their own needs and make a difference within their communities.

Dumfries and Galloway Council can provide financial assistance to the third sector (voluntary and community organisations) who can apply to one or more of four Area Committees: Annandale and Eskdale; Nithsdale; Stewartry; Wigtown. Individuals may also apply in certain circumstances.Each Committee has agreed their own Priorities, Criteria and Eligibility which are detailed on the website.

Glasgow's Holiday Programme aims to enable community organisations to provide nutritious food to children/young people using their services during school holiday periods. The Programme is for children/young people 0-18 years of age.They will fund:- Food costs- Ancillary costs (utility costs, cutlery, chef costs)- Sessional staff costs- Volunteer costs- Venue costs- Activity costs- Transport costs- Entry costs (for day trips)- Management Fee costsYou are encouraged to consider how sustainable delivery can be reflected in your programme.

The North Rhins Wind Farm became operational in 2010 and it will pay community benefit for the 25-year lifetime of the wind farm. Payments are made directly to Community Councils, or similar organisations, to use or distribute to groups that are active in their communities. Ten community councils are eligible for funding from the fund: Cairnryan, Kirkcolm, New Luce, Old Luce, Portpatrick, Stoneykirk, Lochans, Leswalt, Stranraer (which now includes Ochtrelure & Belmont) and Castle Kennedy.
