SCVO employers' network

The SCVO employers' network is a supportive peer network with a focus on people management in the Scottish voluntary sector. It's a respectful, non-judgmental environment where members share good practice, challenges, and explore people management in the voluntary sector themes together.

SCVO's employers' network is a peer network with a focus on people management in the Scottish voluntary sector. We want to improve how we do things in our organisations and across the voluntary sector.

The employers' network offers a space to tap into and share our collective wisdom, learning from each other’s knowledge and experience.

Through the network we:

  • Share good people practice
  • Explore common people management and leadership challenges
  • Learn from and support each other

Membership of the network is open to SCVO HR Service subscribers. We hold online sessions two to three times annually, with flexibility for more frequent sessions if needed. We'll sometimes get together in person too.

If you have any questions about the employers' network or SCVO's HR Service, get in touch by emailing HRService@scvo.scot. We'd love to hear from you.

Caroline Christie

Hello! I’m Caroline.
I’ve worked in HR for over 20 years and in the voluntary sector for around 18 years. Setting up an HR Service for the voluntary sector has been an ambition for SCVO and myself for some time and we are very happy to be able to offer our sector quality HR support and advice for a reasonable cost.
I'm a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, I’m proud to be a long-standing member of the HR Voluntary Sector Forum (a network of HR professionals) and more recently joining the Living Wage Scotland Leadership Group. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about joining our HR Service and the benefits it will bring to your organisation and people.

Lorna Robertson

Hello! I’m Lorna.
I’ve worked with SCVO for just over two years, and I absolutely love it. Before that, I developed my HR experience within the retail sector, where I also got my CIPD qualification. I’m passionate about making HR more progressive and accessible for all.
Outside of work I love musical theatre, dogs and cheesy jokes. I’m also a volunteer young person’s mentor and trustee board member. I would love to talk to you about your people and explore how we can support your organisation through SCVO’s HR service.

Bonetta Davis

Hello! I'm Bonetta.
I started my career in financial services but soon realised that it wasn’t for me. I love helping people so when a role in HR came up, I decided to go for it and haven’t looked back! I’ve worked in HR for 20 years and for SCVO for over four years. I work hard to build good relationships with colleagues and members, offering advice, support and encouragement through HR related matters.

Amy Graham

Hello! I'm Amy.
I’ve worked with SCVO for a year, and I’ve loved every minute of supporting organisations in our sector.  Before joining SCVO, I developed my HR experience within the public and private sector. I’m an Associate CIPD member, as well as having a certificate in mentoring.  I’m passionate about offering quality HR advice and building good relationships.  Outside of work, I love dogs, reality TV and going to the cinema. I look forward to speaking with you about any people related queries you have and discussing where our HR service can support your organisation.
