The
University of Oxford Internship Office runs several programmes designed to help organisations connect with current Oxford students.
Hiring an intern from Oxford can be of value to any type of organisation. Our internship partners enjoy engaging with students of initiative and talent, they have raised their profile among our students, and established a direct link with the University of Oxford as an avenue for future collaboration and recruitment. In addition they gain an additional member of staff who can be assigned to a specific project and provide creative input and quality results.
Depending on the timeframe and focus of the project, we have a variety of initiatives which employers may sign up for. Our
Summer Internship Programme offers hundreds of global internships every year over the summer vacation (between the end of June and the end of September). The programme offers opportunities in a wide variety of industry sectors, in partnership with SMEs, charities, multi-national organisations, including many world-renowned organisations and companies. See our
interactive feedback map for examples of the types of projects offered through the programme.
The innovative
Micro-Internship Programme offers organisations based in Oxfordshire and London the opportunity to outsource short-term projects to our bright, hard-working students in the form of micro-internship placements. These placements last 2-5 days and are voluntary, though hosts are asked to cover the costs of their interns’ lunches and travel within the city on production of receipts.
The programme convenes placements three times per academic year in December, March and June, to coincide with the end of each Oxford University term.
The
Moritz-Heyman Internship Programme offers internships exclusively to our Moritz-Heyman Scholars – our students from lower socio-economic groups at the University of Oxford – who apply through this specific programme. The programme offers full-time work over the summer months, over the Christmas holidays or up to
3 weeks over the Easter break.
“I can’t praise enough the outstanding contribution that the interns have made to the work of Citizens Advice in the 4 weeks that they were with us. They showed intelligence, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm for challenging work and completed all aspects of their assignments to an exemplary standard.” Frank Newhofer, Citizens Advice Oxford
