Building Healthier and Happier Communities is a national programme to improve the health and quality of life of people and communities across Scotland.
It’s starting in East Dunbartonshire, where SCVO is working on a pathfinder with
East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action (EDVA), East Dunbartonshire Community Health Partnership, the Council and local third sector organisations to kick start a new approach to health and wellbeing, which taps into the third sector’s ability to help people lead healthier and happier lives.
In order to inform this programme of support, SCVO and EDVA jointly promoted and publicised public meetings at various venues around East Dunbartonshire during February 2014. These events were intended to introduce the programme and to get a better understanding of the range of activities undertaken by locally based third sector organisations working to improve people's wellbeing in East Dunbartonshire.
Four events were held, in Twechar, Milngavie, Auchinairn and Kirkintilloch, during one week in February. You can get a summary of these What If public events in this report.
