A route map to an Enabling State
Final report in the Enabling State series. The report marks the culmination of 18 months of research and discussion with key stakeholders in the UK and Ireland looking at the emergence of a new more responsive and engaged type of state which we have described as an ?Enabling State?. Our aim was to better understand how an Enabling State could best support individuals and communities to take a more active role in public service delivery and improving societal wellbeing. Sir John?s report sets out 8 key steps that government should take to build a society which gives citizens and communities the opportunity to take more control without disadvantaging those who cannot or do not want more control.
