Adaptation to a changing climate: today's investments in tomorrow's climate

The UK Government, scientists, academia, non-government organisations (NGOs), businesses and financial markets increasingly recognise the reality society faces ? that it needs to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (mitigate) and adapt to inevitable climate change, including rising temperatures and sea levels, and changing rainfall patterns. This report aims to encourage these groups to incorporate the needs of consumers into plans to adapt to a changing climate, by considering the views of consumers and how climate change will impact different parts of Britain. The focus of the report is on long-term investments such as property and financial investments, but as this report makes clear, climate changes will also impact the future supply of essential goods and services such as food production and transport.
