Boards, Governance and Leadership of the Third Sector - Scotland Study
This report focuses on the effectiveness of boards operating within third sector organisations in Scotland. Organisations were invited to take part in a survey in September 2008 that specifically asked opinions on the performance of the Chair, the board and the Chief Officer. A total of 194 responses were received. The research identifies areas of consensus as well as areas where opinions differ. It was therefore able to examine potential tension points from which valuable lessons can be drawn. The survey is based on research undertaken with private sector organisations in the UK, Australia, South Africa, China and Russia, as well as the Scottish Public Services. The main report, as well as a summary of associated discussion groups and other material is available at the link below.
