This 'viewpoint paper' is informed by evidence from a series of reports by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation on different aspects of child poverty in the UK, and by independent analyses of evidence, new policy and proposed policy from the UK and Scottish Governments. It summarises and comments on the respective UK and Scottish Governments' strategies to tackle child poverty in Scotland, and the progress that has been made to date, and proposes measures to improve progress.
