In 2007, the Social Work Inspection Agency (SWIA) conducted a review of the governance arrangements of Turning Point Scotland following a request from Turning Point Scotland. That piece of work led to the development of this self evaluation guide for assessing governance in voluntary organisations who provide social care in Scotland. The Guide is suitable for use by boards of larger social care type organisations and is a useful addition to the other resources available to assess and evaluate governance. The Guide is divided into several sections, each section including a number of key questions boards should be asking themselves, with simple forms to help the board write up their findings.
