SPICe Briefing: Earnings in Scotland 2022
This SPICe briefing looks at the latest data for Scotland from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings.
Incudes a section on Pay by Sector which shows median hourly pay excluding overtime:
- the public sector has the highest median hourly pay (£17.71 in Scotland, £17.52 in UK)
- hourly pay for 'non-profit or mutual association' organsiations is second (£14.52 in Scotland, £15.73 in UK - note the £1.20 pay difference here is larger than for the other sectors)
- private sector has lowest median hourly pay (£13.44 in Scotland, £13.62 in UK)
