The Future of the Minimum Wage: the Employer perspective. (August 2020)
This is the second report in a series on the future of the minimum wage led by Learning and Work Institute and Carnegie UK Trust. The report explores the views of employers on increasing the wage floor. Through nationally representative polling and depth interviews, the report find that most employers support planned increases in the minimum wage, but want government support to help to adapt.
A minimum wage policy which is ambitious about delivering better pay for low paid workers, while recognising the real challenges that many businesses are experiencing and providing them with essential support, may be more important than ever as we rebuild from the Coronavirus crisis.
