The Reuse Consortium Story and Impact Report
Many public sector organisations want to increase their circular and local procurement but have struggled to find a simple way to do so. Circular Communities Scotland started the Reuse Consortium in 2016 to make sustainable procurement from local social enterprises easier and more impactful.
The Reuse Consortium offers Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and other Public Sector organisations easy access to a range of quality assured reuse furniture and white goods from local social enterprises, removing the need to go through a tendering process.
Cumulative impact for the first six and a half years trading (November 2016 – May 2023):
- 13,400 Low-income households helped
- 29,053 Items of reuse furniture provided
- 21+ local jobs maintained
- £2.9 million – value of purchases from local social enterprises
