Making the Links: greenspace for a more successful and sustainable Scotland

greenspace scotland was established in 2003 by Scottish Natural Heritage and partners to provide a national lead on local action to improve the environment of Scotland's towns and cities and to drive forward the Greenspace for Communities Initiative. This publication is produced in two parts. Part 1 draws on international research and project examples from around Scotland to demonstrate how greenspace contributes across the Scottish Government?s five strategic objectives and national outcomes to create healthier, safer and stronger, wealthier and fairer, smarter and greener communities. Part 2 looks at the actions that are needed by a range of partners to make greenspace deliver these outcomes and benefits; this section signposts readers to a range of useful tools and resources, and highlights examples of good practice from across the country involving statutory agencies as well as community and voluntary groups.
