The Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) supports communities to engage with, participate in and benefit from the energy transition to net zero emissions. CARES can support a wide range of projects including installing renewable technologies in community buildings, community benefits and shared ownership. They also provide a package of support and to make it as easy as possible for you to deliver you project. For example, if you want to complete a technical feasibility study they can assign a consultant who will complete this task for you.

The scheme aims to make one-off grants to voluntary organisations whose work complements the work of Social Work Services. Particular attention will be given to groups operating within priority areas or serving priority groups within the terms of Fife Council Policies. Groups who address equal opportunities issues will also be looked on favourably. Grants are only available to groups involved in the field of social welfare.

The fund aims to build the capacity of the community energy sector and deliver impactful renewable energy projects. It seeks to demonstrate how a just transition to net zero can benefit everyone.The priorities of the scheme are to support energy consumers in vulnerable situations, develop innovative products or services and empower consumers to reduce their carbon emissions.The scheme will fund new projects in the following funding streams:- The Main Fund aimed at projects that will support energy consumers in vulnerable situations.- The Small Project Fund aimed at projects that will support energy consumers in vulnerable situations.- Innovation Fund aimed at projects that will develop innovative products or services to benefit energy consumers. - Carbon Emissions Reduction Fund is targeted at projects that empower householders to reduce their carbon emissions and engage positively with the transition to net zero.- Just Transition Fund to accelerate the development of community renewable energy schemes which are in progress and build the capacity of the community energy sector to deliver impactful renewable energy projects. It also aims to encourage community renewable energy projects which bring tangible benefits to energy consumers in vulnerable situations demonstrating how a just transition to net zero can benefit everyone.

This option aims to encourage landscape-scale collaborative projects between two or more landowners by providing support for project facilitation and co-ordination. The subsequent management activity can be supported through other options within the Forestry Grant Scheme. Grant support of £250 per day is available for up to 40 days to support the cost of a project coordinator for feasibility (the initial exploratory phase) and consolidation (focusing on the detail of the project). The proposal must be over a landscape scale involving two or more adjoining or nearby land holdings.Support will be provided for a range of collaborative projects that address issues such as:- woodland creation projects that improve water quality and/or mitigate against the risk of flooding (identified through the Woodlands for Water Target Area on the Scottish Forestry Map Viewer)- woodland creation projects that encourage the planting of farm / croft woodlands- woodland creation projects which deliver landscape-scale expansion of forest habitat networks- woodland projects to enhance the survival and expansion of black grouse / capercaillie- native woodland restoration including removal of rhododendron in priority areas identified within the national rhododendron strategy- landscape-scale woodland deer managementwoodland projects that bring farm / croft woodlands into active management- woodland projects which support rural communities to increase the contribution of woodlands to the local economy- tree health projects which support efforts in dealing with P. ramorum outbreaks across communities

Funding for village halls each year, which is distributed via the four Federations of Village Halls in the Borders area. Each Federation aims to support the development of the village halls in their area as well as provide training and ongoing advice to Village Hall Committees. With the assistance of this funding they also administer small grant schemes which can offer project funding, and in some cases revenue support.

The Dr Gavin Wallace Fellowship allows a creative organisation to host a mid-career or established writer for a year. There is £5000 funding available for a host organisation, and £24,000 for an author. This funding is to enable them to focus on new work. This part of the application process is for potential hosts to apply. Following appointment of a host organisation, they would be expected to manage the recruitment process for selecting a writer.

Two schemes are available:The Out of School Childcare Grant is available to constituted, non-profit distributing voluntary groups or organisations that develop and provide a registered out of school childcare service. The grant is available to support staff wages, inclusion of children with special needs, staff training, improving quality and adaptation to the physical environment.The Transport Grant is to assist Out of School Clubs to meet the costs of transport and escort duties incurred whilst transporting children from the school to the Out of School Care Club.

Welcomes applications for funding to help support the development of youth in sports from within the Garioch area.The foundation will prioritise applications where the need, impact and outcome are clearly defined:- The applicant should clearly define the need, impact and outcome for the team or individual applying for funding.- Although it is not a necessity for funding to be granted, IYSF would encourage applicants to explore any opportunity of securing matching or additional funding through associated sports agencies, private donations, governing bodies etc.- The financial request should be clearly defined in the application to be considered eligible for the requested level of funding.

The SME Loan provides unsecured, interest free loans from for the installation of energy efficient measures such as lighting and heating upgrades, double glazing and insulation. The loan can be used to pay for: - heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades: from single improvements to controls to complete system replacement- lighting systems: fitting and controls- building fabric: including insulation, draft-proofing, double and secondary glazing- water saving: be it installing a grey water system, harvesting rain water or sampling installing water efficient taps- waste reduction: installation of equipment to improve handing and reduce waste at source.
