EVOC has been supporting the people and communities of Edinburgh since 1868. Our mission is to be a leader and catalyst of social change, providing services that help our sector to thrive and influence system change to help make that happen.
We have a long history of offering advice and support to community and voluntary organisations of all sizes on how to get started, compliance and regulation, governance, funding and strategic planning. This is supported by a year-round training programme. Building capacity and supporting innovation in our sector is another priority, and we continue to develop working relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations.
We also have lots of experience using community development principles to build projects that meet the needs of people and communities and are committed to being creative, collaborative, enabling, excellent, fair, inclusive and supportive. Current projects include CLEAR (Carers Landscape Edinburgh Action Research), Edinburgh’s Community Climate Forum, Regenerative Futures Fund and leading a community focused project to find a sustainable future for the Gorgie City Farm Site.
