On this page you'll find information for members about how to book a place at SCVO's annual general meeting (AGM) and how to cast your votes in this year's trustee elections.
You'll need a My SCVO account to book your AGM place and to cast your vote in the 2024 elections.

Every year we hold a members' meeting - our annual general meeting - so that SCVO members like you, our trustees and staff can hear all about SCVO's work, successes and challenges. At the AGM, members will:
We invite all SCVO members to attend the AGM and, via your organisation's membership contact, to vote in our trustee elections and on AGM motions. Supporters are not eligible to vote in SCVO elections, but we warmly invite you to attend the AGM.

Every year, we hold a vote to elect trustees from our membership and on AGM motions. We invite SCVO membership contacts to submit votes on behalf of your organisation. The vote will take place online by logging in to My SCVO.
We will contact your organisation's chosen membership contact with details when voting opens.
All voting for Board of Trustees candidates will close at noon on Monday, 9th December 2024.
Online voting on motions will close at noon on Monday, 9th December 2024. Voting on motions only will be possible at the AGM.

The skills and experience I could bring to the Trustee Board are:  As an existing SCVO Board Member, I actively contribute to Board meetings. My extensive experience in the voluntary sector began as a local youth representative and volunteer, extending to roles within Scottish and UK-wide charities. I bring a range of experience from working across various sectors, including children and young people, environmental, volunteering, health and criminal justice organisations. I am a lifelong volunteer and take great pride in my recent contributions to the SCVO Board.
My reasons for wishing to serve on the Trustee Board are: Given the turbulent times and the increasing demands on the voluntary sector in Scotland, I am committed to supporting SCVO in remaining a powerful and respected voice, raising the profile and value of the sector for individuals, communities and the country as a whole. I recognize that SCVO is not immune to financial challenges and I am dedicated to providing the necessary support to steer SCVO successfully through these challenges.
The skills and experience I could bring to the Trustee Board are:  I bring a wealth of skills in community engagement, strategic planning, and organizational governance. With extensive experience in managing non-profit projects, I excel in fostering collaboration, overseeing financial management, and driving sustainable growth. My strong communication and leadership abilities will support effective decision-making, while my commitment to equality and social impact aligns with SCVO’s mission. I am also adept at navigating challenges and leveraging opportunities to benefit communities across Scotland.
My reasons for wishing to serve on the Trustee Board are: To contribute to SCVO's mission of empowering communities and advancing the voluntary sector in Scotland. As a passionate advocate for social change, I want to support strategic decision-making and governance that enhances the sector’s impact. Serving as a trustee would allow me to apply my experience in community development and nonprofit leadership to help shape initiatives that address pressing societal issues and create lasting positive change for communities across Scotland.
The skills and experience I could bring to the Trustee Board are:  As Founder and Chairman of Blue Light Minds, I bring extensive leadership experience, particularly in the charity sector, focusing on mental health support for Emergency Service workers. I have managed strategic development, fundraising initiatives, and collaboration with healthcare professionals, ensuring high standards of clinical effectiveness. My experience in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and team management will contribute to driving effective governance, strategic decision-making, and impactful community outreach for the SCVO Trustee Board.
My reasons for wishing to serve on the Trustee Board are: My aim in joining the SCVO Trustee Board is to drive meaningful change across Scotland’s third sector. I want to strengthen the support available to charities, ensuring they have the resources, governance, and strategic guidance to thrive. Through my experience with Blue Light Minds, I have seen the impact of well-supported initiatives, and I wish to use my skills to enhance collaboration, amplify voices, and influence policies that empower organisations to deliver lasting community impact
