- Overall aim
The Scottish Budget will be introduced to Parliament on Thursday 9 December. This webinar will help voluntary organisations to understand some of the high level implications of the budget for the Scottish economy, the sector and the communities we work with.
- Description
We are delighted to be joined by speakers who will address the following questions:
- How does the budget impact on the wider economic picture for Scotland, and what might this mean for charities? Rachel Gomez, Economist, Pro Bono Economic
- (How) does the budget directly impact on voluntary organisations? Paul Bradley, Policy Manager, SCVO
- How does the budget impact on local government, and how might this affect voluntary organisations? Sarah Watters, Director of Membership and Resources, COSLA
- How might this budget impact on Scotland's communities? Peter Kelly, Director, The Poverty Alliance
Participants will be able to submit questions using the chat function throughout the event, and the Chair will put a selection of these to the panel.
- Who was the event aimed at?
This webinar is aimed at anyone working in or with an interest in the voluntary sector, who wants to understand more about the context this budget might set for their work: policy staff, researchers, senior leaders, academics.
This webinar is part of an SCVO series of work promoting discussion and debate about the voluntary sector’s role in the economy.
SCVO aims to ensure the voluntary sector is recognised as a vital social and economic actor. In 2021, we have also commissioned a series of articles from leaders in the voluntary, public and private sectors to explore our understanding of the sector in the economy.
