Course overview

An organisation should regularly review its governance in order to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments. This practical course will address common governance challenges, which will benefit participating trustees and staff working within the Scottish voluntary sector.

This three-part online series with freelance consultant Philippa Bonella will give learners practical tools and top tips to help improve their charity’s governance, as well provide a space to reflect and hear from peers.

This half-day course is designed to be studied as a stand-alone session or in conjunction with the other two courses in this three-part series - book all 3 courses, get 10% off the 3rd!

Overall course aim

The aim of this half-day course is to address the board’s role in defining your charity’s strategy, culture and values, consider your organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, and offer tools and tips. It is designed to provide a safe space to hear from other learners about the governance challenges they face, and gather ideas through examples and peer led conversations.
