- Overview
Did you know that the process for disclosing information when applying for employment or volunteering is changing? The Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 comes into force from April 2025, and charities should understand the changes and what this means for them.
- Overall aim
In this session with Volunteer Scotland and Disclosure Scotland, you’ll be informed of the key changes and what they might mean for you. You’ll have a chance to ask questions and find out where to get support.
- Description
This webinar will cover changes to disclosure processes including:
- the introduction of simplified disclosure products and people having more control over their information
- an individualised approach to the disclosure of childhood offending and rights of review for convictions disclosed, to enhance fairness and proportionality
- replacing the concept of ’regulated work’ with ’regulated roles’, making it more easily understood
- the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme becoming mandatory for those carrying out regulated roles with children and protected adults
- the ability for Disclosure Scotland to impose conditions on PVG scheme members who are under consideration for listing
- Who is the event aimed at?
Anyone in the charity sector, including those responsible for appointing new employees or volunteers, charity boards, and people who would like to apply for volunteering or employed roles.
