- Overview
Join SCVO's HR service in a session focusing on employment status. We'll discuss what it means to be an employee, a worker and a freelancer, when organisations might want to hire each employment type, as well as what to do if you think someone working for you is under the wrong working arrangements.
- Overall aim
By the end of the session you will be able to:
- Confidently identify what employment type your staff are
- Know the appropriate circumstances for hiring each employment type
- Understand what statutory rights each employment type has
- Be aware of how the new Employment Rights Bill will affect each employment type
- Description
Do you know the difference between an employee, a worker and a freelancer? Do you know why it matters? Join SCVO's HR team in this session to answer these questions and more.
We'll talk about when a freelancer might actually be an employee, whether zero-hours contracts are ever appropriate to use, and why it's important to know the difference.
There will also be time for a Q&A to cover your questions.
- Who is the event aimed at?
