- Overview
Changes are coming to how venues plan and prepare to host events. From Spring 2027, The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, also known as Martyn’s Law, will require venues to develop critical planning procedures to ensure venues are prepared to deal with potential terrorist acts.
Whether you are a local community centre, village hall, after school programme, or community gathering space, changes to the law now require you to take essential preventive measures to keep your space secure from potential terrorist attacks.
SCVO is proud to be joined by industry experts from Gillespie Macandrew and the SafetyUnit for a lunch and learn session.
We will discuss the basics of the law, where and how it is applied, the duties and responsibilities of venues, the legal consequences of not complying, and more. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts, bringing practical solutions to a sensitive topic.
