- Overview
Join colleagues from the Scottish Government’s Directorate for Local Government and Communities to learn more about the First Minister’s proposals for reform of local governance and to share your views.
- Description
In September following the Programme for Government, the First Minister shared proposals for local governance reform. At this engagement event we will be joined by David Johnston, Head of Local Government Strategy and Reform, at the Directorate for Local Government and Communities, to learn more about the proposals before an opportunity to share your views.
David will:
- Introduce the work of his team on local governance reform;
- Offer reflections on the proposals and dialogue so far;
- Answer questions on the process and next steps.
A discussion will follow the presentation during which voluntary sector colleagues will have the chance to share their reflections on the process. The team are interested in hearing from the sector about their experience of engaging with the reform proposals and the potential for the ambitions of reform – better service delivery and improved outcomes, sustainable public services, and decision making closer to local communities - to be delivered.
Please come prepared to share your views.
This session will be facilitated by SCVO.
- Who is the event aimed at?
This session is open to colleagues and volunteers across the voluntary sector who wish to engage with the Scottish Government on the First Minister’s proposals for local governance reform published on 21 September.
