This year will see SCVO celebrate a ten year anniversary for our free legal advice service. In that time our legal partners have provided essential support to over 500 SCVO member organisations.
Just last year, our survey of service users found that 100% would recommend the service to others, describing the advice given as ‘detailed','very well informed' and 'comprehensive.' So if you’ve got any burning legal issues that you need an opinion or some help with,
contact us today.
In 2017 our partners provided over 70 hours of free legal advice on a range of subjects from governance to employment law. Here’s some of the things they helped SCVO member organisations to do:
- set up trading subsidiaries
- change legal structure
- look at pension liabilities
- sort out election procedures
- deal with copyright and trademark issues
- check over employment contracts
- organise lease negotiations.
To kick off 2018 we’re delighted to announce that
Stronachs will be joining our legal team, to offer more in-depth third sector knowledge and legal expertise. They already act for a number of national and local charities in Aberdeen, Moray and the Highlands and Islands, and will join
Burness Paull and
MacRoberts to provide top notch legal advice. By harnessing the skills and goodwill of their staff, our legal partners help SCVO members to target their limited resources to their core objectives, rather than diverting them towards paying for legal services.
You’ll be able to meet all of our Pro Bono Service partners at
The Gathering on Thursday 22 February at our
GDPR Workshop where we’ll be looking at the new data protection regulations and what they’ll mean to your organisation. Places are filling up fast, so if you want to come,
book your place today.
