We’ve been working with our brilliant partners on SCVO’s Pro Bono Service to create a series of free seminars for both trustees and staff on topics you really need to know to run a successful and sustainable voluntary organisation. We’ve now got our first three lined up in what’s going to be a great programme for 2020.
Our first one is in March and looks at how you can ensure you get the best from the people in your team. Successful Performance Management will look at how you as an employer can proactively support staff to turn around poor performance, how to manage sickness absence, disciplinary processes for poor performance, and the legal tools available.
Next up is our Employment Law Update for 2020 in April. Come along to hear about the current developments in legislation and proposed changes that could have an impact on voluntary sector organisations and get some free practical solutions on key issues affecting you and your employees.
Then in May we’re going to look at Charity Trading and Tax. Any successful charity should have a diverse range of funding sources and income generation through trading can be an attractive prospect. But there are some key issues you need to consider. Charity law imposes restrictions on the nature and level of trading activity charities can do, and there are also various financial and governance implications to consider. Come along to hear about when a charity can, and cannot, trade, the various legal structures available, governance issues and risk management, and accounting, tax implications and Gift Aid.
All of these seminars are free and take place at the end of the working day, so you don’t need to take valuable time out of the office. Book today as places are going fast.
