SCVO Chief Executive Anna Fowlie today welcomed Scottish Government’s position statement on the post-Brexit replacement for European funding:
“The UK Government has been promising details of a UK Shared Prosperity Fund for two years now, but we remain completely in the dark. Scotland’s voluntary sector has benefitted hugely from European funding over the years, particularly in rural areas, and our communities have been strengthened as a result. We are less than two months from the Brexit cliff edge and, remarkably, still have no idea what will replace that vital resource. The proposal published today is a collective and constructive proposition that would ensure any replacement funding reaches the communities in Scotland that need some certainty and hope for the future.”
